On May 18th 2012, Luka Magnotta lured this man to his apartment and videotaped him unconscious … footage which just happens to appear at the beginning of the murder tape. This was five days before Magnotta killed Jun Lin. Despite an exhaustive search, Montreal police have not been able to identify him.
Who is he? … is he even still alive?
The murder tape was made from raw video files that were later recovered from Magnotta’s camera by computer crimes detective Panagiotis Sarganis. Jurors watched the full tape which included the actual sounds recorded during the murder. Without the music from the online version, the court endured the sounds of dozens stab wounds inflicted on Jun Lin. The video revealed Lin’s throat had been slashed prior to the brutal stabbings. The forensic pathologist who performed Lin’s autopsy told the court earlier this month the most likely cause of death was the cut to the throat.
Here we go again with this Luc Leclair again … seriously dude, WTF is going on?
During cross examination Leclair insinuated a second perpetrator may have been present the night of Lin’s killing. Leclair asked Sarganis several questions along that line … Was the arm seen in one sequence where water is running over a body part indeed Magnotta’s? Was it Magnotta who moved the camera and switched the function from still to video photography?
This Leclair reminds me of Bernardo’s lawyer … yeah, the guy who retrieved and kept the murder tapes for a year … while Karla Homolka was making her sweetheart deal.
The video below shows Luka Magnotta coming and going during the exact timeframe he murdered Jun Lin. The time stamp shows Magnotta lured his unsuspecting victim to his apartment at 5720 DeCarie Blvd. just after 10pm on May 24, 2012.
Less than 4 hours later, Magnotta comes strolling out the front door wearing the shirt of his murder victim … Magnotta has probably already killed Jun Lin at this point. He returns 5 minutes later carrying a bag and stops to check himself out in the mirror.
One half hour later at 10 to 3 in the morning, less than 5 hours since Jun Lin was seen alive walking into 5720 DeCarie Blvd. … Luka Magnotta is seen disposing of the first evidence from the murder he just committed. Magnotta appears an hour later at 4am to dump more bloody evidence.
Then at 6am, building maintenance comes by and unknowingly takes Magnotta’s grisly trash out to the curb … 7 hours later at 1pm, we see Magnotta again at the garbage … however, he’s wearing rubber gloves this time … I would suspect Magnotta has been cleaning up the murder scene this whole time.
Just after 2pm on the 25th, Magnotta returns from what appears to be some shopping. Then 3 hours later, just after 5pm, Magnotta is back at the garbage bins dumping more evidence. At half past 7, we see Magnotta returning from more errands, then we see Magnotta enter the lobby again at 9pm.
Just before 10pm, Magnotta is back at the garbage dumping more evidence … he moves some items from bin to bin, then stops to reach in and retrieve a piece of paper … he pauses to read it, and then stuffs it further down into the bin.
At 5:30am on May 26, we see Magnotta enter the lobby wearing the same Mickey Mouse shirt he is later filmed wearing at the airport. At 10 to 6am, he is seen dumping more evidence, however, this item is some sort of device with an electrical cord attached.
The last footage is Magnotta entering the building just before 5pm on May 26th … not long after this footage is taken, Magnotta boards a plane and flees to Paris France.
The real 1 Lunatic 1 IcePick murder video was uploaded to the internet by Luka Magnotta on May 25th … people were already responding to it by 9pm. This is the same video Luka Magnotta was posting about on May 15th … ten days before the murder. Seriously now Mr. Leclair … WTF are you going on about?
There is no doubt in my opinion … Luka Magnotta is guilty of Premeditated First Degree Murder. The gall of the defense in this case is completely disgusting.
This guy Magnotta is cut from the same cloth as the Paul Bernardos of society … and Magnotta’s lawyer wants to argue he should not be held criminally responsible because of mental illness.
WTF is going on here?
Magnotta planned this murder … posted about it online … then shockingly committed it. He then thought he could avoid detection and flee Canada … while dropping bloody body parts in the mail.
This guy is totally responsible and knows what he is doing … Magnotta is now playing the Canadian Justice system like a seasoned pro … I would bet his lawyer has probably coached him on how their guilty but not criminally responsible defense will play out.
IMO … the only justice that could ever bestow this monster?
Luka Magnotta deserves to be executed.
Ok seriously now … this case is beyond sensible reason.
Luc Leclair has stated a ridiculous argument that Luka Magnotta did what he did … but is not criminally responsible.
Then Leclair goes about parading evidence before the jurors … including a pair of black underwear belonging to Magnotta, which was given an exhibit number without a word of explanation from Leclair as to its relevance.
After early testimony about the video footage of Magnotta cleaning up after his macabre night of massacre … these are not the actions of a person who does not know difference between right and wrong … IMO the guy is a complete monster.
Jury selection is complete at Luka Rocco Magnotta’s murder trial … Magnotta’s trial is expected to last between six and eight weeks and is set to begin tomorrow Sept. 29th.
Besides the murder charge, Magnotta has pleaded not guilty to committing an indignity to a body; publishing obscene material; criminally harassing Prime Minister Stephen Harper and other members of Parliament; and mailing obscene and indecent material.
I don’t really know why Luka Magnitta was back in court again yesterday … this trial is going to cost a freakin fortune.
Magnotta’s jury trial is set to begin on Sept. 8, 2014. Magnotta’s lawyer, Luc Leclair, filed a series of motions he intends to argue early next year.
Superior Court Justice Guy Cournoyer said he hopes the two sides in the case will resolve the issues before the February hearing date … the story continues HERE.
There is not much to report about Luka Magnotta until the trial starts in Sept. 2015. Recently Magnotta’s ex girlfriend Barbie Swallows did an interview with the Toronto Sun, where she says Magnotta was ‘extremely narcissistic.’
Now we have reports of how an American blogger name Kyle says he is co-ordinating tours and is interested in the case since “Luka’s very physically attractive” and “has a lot of personality.”
Give me a freakin break … seriously now, WTF is wrong with some people.
Anyhow, Barbie scoffs at the whole thing … she said Magnotta will enjoy the recognition showered upon him by Kyle and anyone taking the tours.
“He’s in love with himself,” she said. “ He only cares about himself and his public image. As long as people are still talking about him then he is satisfied.” … read more from the Toronto Sun HERE.
Mark Marek, the owner of the website that posted the 1 Lunatic 1 IcePick video showing the alleged killing of Jun Lin by Luka Rocco Magnotta has been arrested in Edmonton and charged with corrupting morals.
Police said a year-long investigation that began shortly after the murder of Jun Lin in Montreal has led to the charge against 38 year old Mark Marek. They also mentioned, there could be more charges … read more from The Star HERE.
It has been a year since, according to police … Luka Magnotta murdered and dismembered Jun Lin in Apartment 208. The superintendent at the building, Eric Schorer has said, the renovated apartment, has since been rented … this is the second tenant to live in the unit since the grisly murder.
He doesn’t think the man, whom he described as a foreigner, knows anything about the past history of his current home.
“We don’t advertise it, obviously,” Schorer said.
I am not surprised that the trial is starting two years after the death of Jun Lin … I will never understand how we can delay justice for so long in a case like this.
The dates to watch for … Sept. 3rd of this year, where there will be a pre-trial conference … and Sept. 15, 2014, when Luka Rocco Magnotta will finally face trial.
